IF YOU DO NOT ASK THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS NO!
This will be a visual story - of a lovely incident that brought a smile to my face!

Moral of the story?
Go back to the title of the story :))

BOOK I AM READING THIS WEEK

Finished reading India's Most Fearless 2: More Military Stories of Unimaginable Courage and Sacrifice
Good read, if you like patriotic stories of valor and incredible courage!

Started reading Cold Steel (thanks to Aditya Kondawar for the suggestion) - which is the takeover story of Mittal Steel (Lakshmi Mittal) taking over Arcelor.
It is written in a gripping fashion and I haven't been able to put it down! Brilliant book with a lot of research gone behind it.
Pick it up if you love true stories about corporate takeovers :)

In other news, I was at the press for 2 days, signing the copies of my next book 'Get Epic Shit Done', which will launch for pre-order soon with 25K signed copies up for grabs (and will start shipping Dec 17th).

Do Epic Shit is FINALLY in audio (yay!).
I had an awesome time recording it in my voice and it is exclusively on Audible.
If you are into audio books - consider listening to this one :)

If you prefer printed books then pick up the book in English (Hardcover, Paperback, Kindle) Hindi, Marathi and Tamil.
200,000+ copies sold.
5 more languages coming up! (Including Portuguese)

RESPONSES TO LAST WEEK'S QUESTION

If you are sad, what do you prefer?

  1. To be left alone
  2. Have someone to cheer me up/to talk to

Here are the responses:

Observations:

  • Fascinating! As we grow older, we prefer having people around us to cheer us up!
  • While the younger folks are more like - nope I am good. Will handle this on my own.
  • I think the reason is two-fold:
    • While young, we actually think people are going to judge us if we are sad and desire company to make us feel good
    • When old, we have built some meaningful relationships (hopefully) that we can bank upon
  • That said, there is still a pretty strong percentage of people who prefer to be left alone. Which is perfectly fine, UNLESS - you are not sharing because you believe you will be a burden on others.
  • Trust me - you will be surprised at how many people are willing to help, if you ask for it!

My response?
I prefer being left alone and processing it on my own - because I am able to quickly resolve it and move on. That is a superpower :)

PICTURE OF THE WEEK

This Sunday we went to the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi. It is a beautiful serene places (as most Gurudwaras tend to be) - the langar was awesome (especially the dal) and the weather was just perfect for the setting!

Have you visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar? It is a must-visit.

Do you have the right tools? Sometimes, I get these cute DMs: "Ankur, your pics are looking awesome. Which phone do you use?" "Ankur, your videos are so sharp. Which camera do you use?" "Your voice sounds so clear and deep. Which mic do you use?" "You have been meditating for so long without fail, which app do you use?" Makes me smile :)) It's the equivalent of me asking someone, "Your book was wonderful. Which pen did you use?" A lot of us are stuck in the wait for the right tools. The right...

I had to ask! When I met my current wife, Ruchi, at the age of 19 while in college, she was way out of my league! I was the super geeky and serious kid.I had strong notions about what is right and wrong.I was too uptight.I would even call myself sad at that point.Too serious. And took myself too seriously. She, on the other hand, was the Shahrukh Khan in everybody’s life.Happy and going with the flow :))Forever smiling.Everyone adored her.Her happiness made everyone else happy around her. We...

If it's just hard work, why wouldn't you do it? Our colony had the Tennis Singles Finals this morning. I lost. While I feel slightly bad about it, I am happy about 2 things: 1/ I didn't play it safe. I played aggressively and took my chances. It's another thing that most chances did not work out :)) But I tried! 2/ I know exactly where I went wrong and what I need to do to fix it. The distance between where I am and where I wish to be can be covered by hard work. You see, a lot of us are...
