NO SURPRISES FOR THE NAME OF MY FIRST BOOK

It is indeed out. My first ever book.
When it came to the name, there frankly was nothing better sounding than what we finally chose.
And then my editor and publisher, Chiki weaved her magic to design a cover that I so love.

Presenting to all of you - DO EPIC SHIT

The book is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
I went on a book signing spree because I wanted the first lot of folks who buy the book to get a hand-signed copy.
So the first 5,000 people who buy the book will ALL get a hand-signed copy of the book that I have personally, over 14+ hours signed with all my love :))

What is the book about?
It is not my story, and yet it is.
It is a compilation of all my thoughts that I shared over the years, leaving for all of you to ponder upon.
And all of those thoughts stem from my own life experiences.

What I love about the book is that it has no start and no finish.
You can pick any page and that page by itself will be complete.
Which is what I would want you to do.
Every day, pick up the book and open it to any random page.
Read that page. Maybe 2-3 more.
Reflect upon it.
And that's it.

Come back to it the next day.
Repeat :)

By that measure, I hope to see the book appeal to those who have never read a book or do not like to read. So if you do consider to buy a copy, think of someone you could gift this to.

Thank you so much for all your love and support. At least for a few months I now have a reply to the question, "Why don't you write a book?"

Pre-order DO EPIC SHIT and the first 5,000 orders will receive a personally signed copy.

BOOK I AM READING THIS WEEK

Finished The Code of the Extraordinary Mind : 10 Unconventional Laws to Redefine Your Life and Succeed on Your Own Terms but didn't pick up another book. Spent 2 full days signing books and there were a lot of other things happening. So the morning routine went for a toss :)

RESPONSES TO LAST WEEK'S QUESTION

Last week, I asked

Do you meditate?

  1. Yes, regularly.
  2. No, tried - however, didn't work for me / gave up.
  3. No, never tried it.

Here are the responses:

Observations:
1. As we grow older, more people start meditating regularly (which is what I would expect)
2. The percentage of "tried but didn't work" is highest when very young. That is also understandable. This age is full of emotions, thoughts and changes.
3. Never tried also reduces with age. I am surprised though that 20% still have never tried!

Meditation, in my experience has been transformational. A lot of people struggle with how to get started. I did share that on my podcast. (check it out on Spotify; search for woice on your favorite podcast platform. This episode is Oct 21, 2021.)

PICTURE OF THE DAY

This is me signing copies of the book (5,000 of them!) at the Thomson Press. They were so lovely and showed me the entire factory. And I love machines and what engineering has made possible.

To my right is Mr. Rajesh, who narrated the most joyful stories of his times with Thomson. He has been with them for 25+ years. Wow!

Do you have the right tools? Sometimes, I get these cute DMs: "Ankur, your pics are looking awesome. Which phone do you use?" "Ankur, your videos are so sharp. Which camera do you use?" "Your voice sounds so clear and deep. Which mic do you use?" "You have been meditating for so long without fail, which app do you use?" Makes me smile :)) It's the equivalent of me asking someone, "Your book was wonderful. Which pen did you use?" A lot of us are stuck in the wait for the right tools. The right...

I had to ask! When I met my current wife, Ruchi, at the age of 19 while in college, she was way out of my league! I was the super geeky and serious kid.I had strong notions about what is right and wrong.I was too uptight.I would even call myself sad at that point.Too serious. And took myself too seriously. She, on the other hand, was the Shahrukh Khan in everybody’s life.Happy and going with the flow :))Forever smiling.Everyone adored her.Her happiness made everyone else happy around her. We...

If it's just hard work, why wouldn't you do it? Our colony had the Tennis Singles Finals this morning. I lost. While I feel slightly bad about it, I am happy about 2 things: 1/ I didn't play it safe. I played aggressively and took my chances. It's another thing that most chances did not work out :)) But I tried! 2/ I know exactly where I went wrong and what I need to do to fix it. The distance between where I am and where I wish to be can be covered by hard work. You see, a lot of us are...
